MFA Computer Art ended this past year on a high note: Its class of 2013 made a strong showing at the Taiwan International Student Design Competition, six alumni making it to the semifinal round and three winning honors in the Digital Animation category. Daniel Sierra’s Oscillate took the gold; honorable mentions went to Steinar Bergoeynedrebo’s Staircases and Xun Wang’s Iron Hans. Meanwhile, in Osaka, Japan, Mirror, a film by Gyu Hyun Kim (MFA 2012 Computer Art), won the latest of its many honors, grand prize in the International Film category at the International Students Creative Awards.
