Developer Trays (Powerhouse Books, 2014) by master photography printer John Cyr (MFA 2010 Photography, Video and Related Media) chronicles darkroom experiences of the world’s most distinguished photographers, such as Ansel Adams, Bruce Davidson and Sylvia Plachy along with BFA Photography alumni Tom Baril (1980) and Joni Sternbach (1977). 
On March 18th at The PowerHouse Arena in Brooklyn, Cyr will sit down for a chat with author and SVA faculty member Lyle Rexer (MFA Photography, Video and Related Media; MPS Fashion Photography; and BFA Photography) during a book launch celebration for Developer Trays, which coincides with Cyr’s solo exhibition of the same name.
Graphic Content: True Stories from Top Creatives (Typeface, 2013), edited by Brian Singer, is a collection of first-hand experiences and anecdotes contributed by more than 50 of today’s top creative minds, several from the SVA community. Color Management and Quality Output (Focal Press, 2014) by Tom Ashe, associate chair of the MPS Digital Photography Department, is based on years of color theory and color management experience. With a forward by MPS Digital Photography Department Chair Katrin Eismann, Ashe’s guide offers tips for creating professional grade images and quality prints. With new information on how color is perceived in the mind and on screen, Color Management and Quality Output is the latest edition in the Digital Imaging Masters Series, based on the progressive curriculum of MPS Digital Photography at SVA.
The Forest Feast (Stewart, Tabori & Chang 2014) by Erin Gleeson (MFA 2007 Photography, Video and Related Media) features 100 simple vegetarian recipes, delicate hand lettering and robust visuals designed to inspire healthy eating. Both an artist book and cookbook, The Forest Feast includes comprehensive meal instructions as well as stunning photos and illustrations.
