The 2014 Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) category winners have been announced and out of nearly 4,500 submissions from over 1,500 colleges and universities worldwide, recent SVA alumnus Donica Aida (MFA 2014 Design) has been named one of just 10 winners. Aida, who is now also eligible for a Grand Prize, received top honors in the Web and App Design category for her thesis project, NORTH, a location-based curatorial mobile application utilizing user narratives to promote interaction with nature and the outdoors.
SVA was well represented in the 14th Annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards, with two other alumni making the final round out of just 25 finalists in all: John Choi (BFA 2014 Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects) for Nice to Meet You and NaiWei Liu (MFA 2014 Computer Art) for Something Important.
Grand Prize Winners from interactive experience, video and motion, and traditional media segments will be announced at the 2014 ADAA ceremony and reception at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, California on October 5. Three winners will receive Adobe software, a cash prize of $3000, creative mentorship and an invitation to participate in the 2014 Adobe MAX in Los Angeles.
