Three BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects alumni (class of 2014) took the top prizes in the Animation category at the 2015 College Television Awards. Nick Tustin won first prize for his short film, Birthday, which follows an alien bug born into a beautiful yet frightening jungle, while Michael Altman and Anne Yang took second place for their short Broken Wand, which chronicles an elderly magician’s reunion with his moody grandson.
The Annual College Television Awards is modeled after the Primetime Emmy Awards and involves three rounds of judging, which culminates in a Blue Ribbon panel determining first, second and third prize. In addition, winners receive cash prizes, professional workshops, networking opportunities and round-trip tickets to Los Angeles to attend the awards ceremony.
