SVA’s John McIntosh and Alumni at Upcoming Collider Conference

Along with industry experts Ila Abramson (Founder, I Spy Recruiting), Laura Hopkins (Head of Recruiting, Framestore), Dan Schrecker (VFX Supervisor/Creative Director, Look EFFECTS Inc.), Deb Stone (Senior Recruiter, Blue Sky Studios) and Mark Voelpel (Executive Creative Director, R/GA), McIntosh will share his thoughts and predictions on topics such as hiring trends, strategies artists can use to remain in demand and career opportunities within the larger landscape of digital production during the panel entitled Career Strategies for Animation and VFX Survivalists: Options and Opportunities to Re-Invent, Re-Educate and Thrive.

Collider is the first happening of its kind on the East Coast that combines a job fair, master classes, panel discussions and networking events to help artists gain new skills and understanding in the technologically nimble and dynamic fields of visual effects, animation and design. In addition to McIntosh, SVA alumni will present on a number of topics, including Brian Austin (BFA 1987 Fine Arts/MPS 2006 Art Therapy), who will discuss how digital technology can be therapeutic through his work with The Animation Project; Joe Herman (BFA 1987 Fine Arts) who will talk about advancements in post production; and Kevin Romond (BFA 1991 Fine Arts), who will give a master class on his work on the groundbreaking third act battle in Iron Man 3.
