Barcelona (Radius Books, 2013) by photographic artist and writer Janelle Lynch (MFA 1999 Photography, Video and Related Media) explores unsown grounds outside of Barcelona evidencing the Spanish landscape’s lifecycle with visual metaphors of sorrow, tribute and remembrance.

La Camioneta: The Journey of One American School Bus (Follow Your Nose Films, 2013), the critically acclaimed documentary by Mark Kendall (MFA 2011 Social Documentary Film), is now available on DVD. An “upbeat story of resilience, regeneration and artistic imagination,” according to Stephen Holden of The New York Times, Kendall’s film follows the southern migration of a decommissioned American school bus as it’s sold in Pennsylvania and sent to Guatemala for resurrection. Cecelia Ruiz (MFA 2012 Illustration as Visual Essay), illustrates Seven Deadlies: A Cautionary Tale (Blue Rider Press, 2013) by Gigi Levangie, a coming-of-age novel about a 9th grade Mexican-American heroine and the observations she makes while “teenage-sitting” the Beverly Hills elite.
