On March 22nd, the Office of Career Development hosted SVA’s annual Career Fair at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The fair was attended by 60 top creative employers and over 350 students and recent graduates. Industry guests had the opportunity to meet with students and recent alumni, view portfolios and discuss internship and job opportunities. Companies participating included: Arnold Worldwide, Laird + Partners, McCann NY, NIKE, Psyop, R/GA, Viacom/MTV, Sesame Street, Wieden+Kennedy, and Young & Rubicam.

Also in attendance were organizations that provide artists with career assistance such as grants, project funding, residencies, and studio space. Representatives from Aperture Foundation, CUE Art Foundation, College Art Association, Fractured Atlas, IndieGoGo, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council spoke to students and graduates about their resources.

Rod Berg, Creative Recruiter for Momentum Worldwide/McCann Worldgroup said of the fair, “In addition to having strong design and conceptual books, SVA students possess a high level of intelligence and enthusiasm. The school’s rich range of programs and dedicated faculty seem to be in line with the industry. The college is realistically preparing their students to step into the real world and launch successful careers.”
