For the fourth year in a row, SVA has been named “School of the Year” by the prestigious Art Directors Club (ADC). At the ADC Awards gala recently in Miami, BFA Advertising and Design Department students received 13 ADC Cubes for campaigns created in Frank Anselmo’s “Unconventional Advertising” class.

The “School of the Year” award recognizes the school with the top cumulative award winners, and is based on total points for the year’s winning work across categories. The cubes represented a range of clients from Coppertone and Ikea to Coleman and PETA. Alumnus Bryan Hyung Ahn (BFA 2012 Advertising) was awarded three cubes in the categories of Advertising, Interactive, and Design, making him the first student award winner in ADC history to be honored in three categories in a single year.

The Art Directors Club is the premier organization for integrated media worldwide. Founded in New York in 1920, the ADC is a self-funded, not-for-profit, global membership organization that serves as a hub for creative talent and leadership in visual communication. An international panel of leading creative professionals adjudicates the ADC Awards competition to recognize the best work from around the world in interactive media, broadcast and print advertising, graphic design, publication design, packaging, photography and illustration.

The winners presented with the ADC’s coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze Cubes will be featured in the award-winning Art Directors Annual, the oldest and most respected compendium of outstanding work in the industry. Additionally, the Gold, Silver and Bronze work will be sent on a worldwide tour through the ADC International Annual Awards Exhibition. Winning work will also be archived online at ADC’s website later this year.
